The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Eight New Missionaries Arrive!

Eight new missionaries arrived today, all excited and a little nervous, but ready to meet the great adventure of serving a full-time mission in the best mission in the world!
Smiles, smiles, and MORE smiles!!!
We could instantly feel a great amount of love for this fine group of missionaries!
We loaded all the luggage, missionaries and drove through Brussels.
It was a gorgeous day in Brussels and we enjoyed the view for one last time from the 8th floor of the mission office. We will miss this beautiful captivating city of so much history and beautiful architecture!
After getting all "legalized" and interviews with President Brubaker they all came to the mission home for lunch.
After a little rest, we were so excited to share Tervuren Park with the missionaries, and as we walked, Elder Matthews shared the story of the land of Belgium and Luxembourg being dedicated for missionary work.
We stopped along the way, and talked about the symbolism of this tree that stands out from all of the rest.
It was a peaceful, sunny day and reminded us of the Sacred Grove. This is the spot where 20 years ago, Jeffrey R. Holland dedicated the land for missionary work. We had some great contacting experiences at the Grand Place. We counted up the different nationalities of people contacted- 16 countries!
Back to the mission home for the anticipated opening of the letters!
Zuster Welch is so happy to be serving with Zuster Garvin in the Hague.
Elder Schow will be serving with Elder Sanchez in Spijkenisse.
Elder Schulte will be serving with Elder Robinson in Amsterdam.
Elder van de Graaf will be serving with Elder van Doesburg in St. Niklaas.
Elder Wait will be going to Gent, and his trainer will be Elder Alexander.
Elder Wang will be going to Deventer and will be trained by Elder Waldie.
Elder Hendrickson will be gong to Almere, serving with Elder Osmond.
And Elder Merrill will be going to Zoetermeer, his trainer is Elder Seaman.

"I will go and do as the Lord has commanded me."

  1. This was an awesome group to teach at the MTC. They will be one of my last. I 'm excited to see how they bless the lives of those they teach where they've been called to serve.

  3. Thanks for posting their arrival. Loved to see the pictures of happy missionaries anticipating their first area. I saw your post on Mother's Day and it made it the best ever! Second only to actually talking to her. Thanks for keeping up this blog.
