The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Nine New Missionaries Join the Best Mission in the World!

Wow!!! How blessed are WE! We received NINE new missionaries today in the Amsterdam airport!
We were so relieved to have them arrive on time, safe and happy!
I was especially please to be getting four zusters!President Brubaker felt the dedication and love immediately of these fine group of young men and women, willing to serve full-time in the land of Belgium and the Netherlands. This new group experienced riding the train to the mission office. When we arrived they were getting all initiated by Elder Benson and Elder Alexander, our mission secretaries. Elder McCarlie, our financial secretary talked with them about pertinent money issues.
After lunch and a nap at the mission home, these missionaries were excited to meet real people in the Netherlands to share why they are here!
The office elders, the assistants, Elder and Sister Tibbitts and President Brubaker and I all had a great experience helping the missionaries have their first experience contacting people.
They were so well prepared!
A new tradition! Traditional pannekoeken for dinner!
It was time to open the first assignment letters back at the mission home! We have the finest missionaries that have been given the most important assignment to be the trainers of these missionaries. President Brubaker is very prayerful, as he understands the importance of this first companion in the life of a missionary.
Elder Pope will serve in Hengelo with Elder Kuttler.Elder Pitchforth will serve in Almere with Elder Waldie.Zuster Moses will be serving with Sister Perry in Gouda.Elder Larson will be going to Gent and his trainer will be Elder Van Doesburg.Zuster Larsen is excited to be going to Amsterdam, serving with Zuster De Groot.
Elder Bickham will be whitewashing Turnhout with the help of Elder Bair.
Zuster Gardner is happy to serve in Zoetermeer with Zuster Kremer.
Zuster Herring and Zuster Garvin will be the first zusters in Breda.
Elder Hyer will be trained by Elder Wicken in the northern part of our mission in Heerenveen.
What an incredible first day in the life of a Dutch missionary!
