The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Last Week of Interviews

We started the week with the Utrecht District.
The sun was out on this crisp beautiful fall day.
It was a perfect day for an outside photo!

Zuster Moses and Zuster Rich are serving in Dordrecht
On Wednesday President Brubaker had a captive audience as he took a few minutes
to talk to the elders about having a deep down understanding.....
of their purpose. Whenever we are in a District Meeting or a training, the missionaries repeat their purpose together found on the first few pages of Preach My Gospel. President Brubaker helped them come to know for themselves the importance of their purpose.

We are seeing mushrooms everywhere!
On Thursday we started our day in Apeldoorn! While President Brubaker interviewed the missionaries, I talked to their companion about a simple envelope budgeting method that could be helpful in learning how to budget their money while on a mission. Elder Sanchez and Elder van over Beek had to grab their lunch quickly before catching their train back to Arnhem for an appointment. So they ate while I talked to them!
Elder Hawkley and Elder Bjork are serving in Apeldoorn and Deventer together. They pitched in and helped with the dishes!
Elder Leash and Elder Pope are serving in Hengelo.
On Friday we made our way up to the northern most part of our mission. The Groningen district was ready for their district meeting. President Brubaker took a few minutes before starting interviews to talk with them about really understanding and applying their purpose to everything they do.
Elder and Sister van Komen had to leave early for a wedding of two young adults that they had set up on a date. But they left sweet and sour chicken and treats for the elders! Our senior couples really know how to spoil our missionaries!
