The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Familie de Reus Is United in the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Saskia, Nico, Gaby and Dominic

Spijkenisse

We love Familie de Reus very much. Their story started with a miracle. One day Elder Davies and Elder Mohrman were knocking on doors. One particular door was opened by Sas. She told the elder that her husband was a member of the church. He had not attended church for a long time. She also informed them that she had no interest in religion. Her son Dominic, though, was in the hospital. He would stay there for several weeks and she asked them to pray for him. They did and a few days later he had been blessed by the Lord and was leaving the hospital. She met elder Mohrman and Elder Davies in the centrum about a month later and said that they were welcome at their house. Soon there were transfers. Elder Mohrman and Elder da Cruz met Nico and he expressed his desires to come back to the church. We also met their daughter, Gaby. At the beginning they loved to talk about Dutch culture. It took another transfer until Sas became ready to receive the lessons. The day that Elder Brown arrived, she called the elders to tell the news. She had prayed and the spirit touched her heart. From this point on she was solid and the Lord blessed her with enlightenment. Dominic became eight and decided that he also wanted to take the step towards following Christ. They finally decided to come to church and there they felt at home. When Elder Ombach arrived it was almost time for their date, which they were looking forward too. The day finally came and the ward was there to support them and show their love for them. It was a beautiful moment where hearts were touched. Most importantly, their own. This family has great love for the Lord, each other and the elders. (written by Elders de Spijkenisse)
