The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Quincy Embraces The Gospel in Utrecht

Quincy Tillion, 11 December 2011

Utrecht

Elder Johnson, Elder Benson, Quincy,

Mitchell Swart, Brandon Swart and Jason Swart

It all started about midday during the week right before a member appointment. Elder Johnson and I,Elder Benson, were just locking up our bikes when we heard a noise coming out of my jacket which was nothing more than our phone ringing. So, I answered it. I heard the voice on the other end which was our Elder’s Quorum President, Mitchell Swart. The first words that came out of his mouth were "Hey Elders we'll be having a Baptism in Utrecht in about 3-4 weeks! I was shocked at this comment and he told us about a friend of his brothers. I relayed the news to Elder Johnson we were both extremely excited yet calm in shock in the attitude of "could this really be?" Well we end up dropping by Mitchell's house one Sunday afternoon and we meet the Man! Quincy happened to be coming by that same evening, we had no idea just felt like it was a good idea to go by. We talked to Quincy and he explained how Brandon and Jason Swart his friends, Mitchell's younger twin brothers, had been talking to him about the Gospel and how at a given moment they told him you Follow God or you Do not, Everything or Nothing. Then Quincy talked with Mitchell who expounded on the Doctrine of the Temple and Quincy was immediately touched by the Spirit of God and enlightened his mind. Then he asked to visit Mitchell once again who explained the Doctrine of The Restoration of The Gospel. Then he went to a special Jovo service with Elder Kopischke present and Mitchell felt moved upon by the Spirit after the meeting to take Quincy to the Temple. Quincy then saw the Temple and was invited to touch it. He was overcome with joy he hugged the Temple after that. Then once returned to the Vehicle, Quincy told Mitchell, "The Temple touched me today" which is a fulfillment of the words of The Living Day Prophet Thomas S Monson when he said "whoever touches the Temple The Temple Touches Them" Then he explained he was now there with us. We asked him, “What are your desires from you?. He responded sharply with great determination but yet in a humble manner saying, "I want to be baptized as soon as possible and get the Priesthood, go to the Temple and go on a Mission." We were as Elders Christensen and Moreno in The District Shocked. Our response, "well you’re talking to the right guys." He flew through the teaching process. The Spirit was upon him because he continued to "Feast"on the Words of The Book of Mormon and to Pray To our Father in Heaven and come to church. The day of Baptism friends and family came and Mitchell performed the Baptism and it was so special to see one of Heavenly Fathers sons begin the path upon The Fullness of Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Mitchell and Quincy embraced each other full of Love and the Spirit of The Lord rushed in and touched the Hearts of all those who saw this event. Quincy is now continuing his growth in The Gospel of Christ. (Written by Elder Benson)
