The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

A Faithful Pioneer for Nepal is Baptized

Mohan Sigdel, Leuven Belgium, September 19, 2010

Mohan Sigdel is from Nepal. We met him for the first time at the baptism of his best friend Surya. He came so that he could be Surya’s camera man, but it turned out that he forgot his memory card so someone else had to take the pictures. Just a little embarrassed, Mohan stayed by Surya’s side the whole time looking for ways to nobly assist his friend. We learned that he was married, spoke Hindi, French, and English and worked 6 hard days a week doing construction. The next time we saw him was quite an unexpected surprise. Surya had invited us for dinner, and Mohan happened to be there, too. Once again following Surya’s lead, Mohan greeted us with a firm hand shake and a hug. Then they served us Nepalese food and refused to let us sit on the floor next to them leaving us to sit on the only two chairs in the room out of respect. After the food we all sat in a circle on the ground to share a message about the saints in India out of the Liahona. They both loved it very much, and Mohan told us that he wanted to join our church. Pulling out our cell phone we picked a date, and about 6 weeks later he was baptized. When asked what repentance means to him, Mohan said “that is when you take the bad and throw it out.” Mohan is amazing and will be a great pioneer for the church in Nepal.
