The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Two Amazing Baptisms in Utrecht

Michael Berg, Utrecht, September 12, 2010

Michael is the step child of a member who was baptised with her son about a year ago. He sat in on the lessons but after some time did not feel ready to be baptised so decided to wait. After coming to church and being active, he went to EFY and said at the testimony meeting he felt a sprit so strong that he knew he had to be baptised. T he next Sunday he announced that in church; much to my and Elder Osmond’s surprise. We went over the next day and made a plan for him to take all the lessons, with Elder Frahm which went well. Tthere were probably 80 youth from around the Netherlands there to support him and with his brother baptising him, he could not be more happy.

Maria Van der Vliss (Ietje), Utrecht, September 12, 2010

Ietje was found by Elder Robinson while sitting on exchanges in Utrecht and they struck up a conversation which turned into a couple of coincidences that led to exchanging numbers. Later Elder Robinson was transferred to Utrecht and Ietje accepted a visit from him and Elder Osmond where they started teaching. She was very sceptical at first but later came to church and never stopped after going through a tough time with her sister and everything. She was prepared to enter baptism but wanted to wait until her birthday, Sept 12th. At her baptism she was so happy with her family support and a long awaited time. She was smiling ear to ear. She was baptized and later said I feel so good inside and I know that this was the right choice.
