The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

The Anticipation Grows!

After a very welcomed nap at the mission home, we woke up the missionaries and all gathered around the table for the traditional avocado condiment Mexican soup. A nice change from the food at the MTC!
This particular group of missionaries were well trained! Before I knew it, all dishes were cleared and in the dishwasher! Many hands make light work!
We started this special meeting together with a Dutch hymn. We took some time to let the missionaries share their thoughts with one another! We were very impressed with the kindness this group shows towards one another. They had become like family in the MTC.
Drumroll..........it is time for the missionaries to not be in suspense any longer!!!
Zuster Townsend will be serving in the Hague with Zuster Tanner.Zuster Jones will be serving with Zuster Gardener in Gouda.
Elder Romer will be serving in the Hague with Elder Calkins!
Zuster Schwab will be serving in Dordrecht with Zuster Rich.
Elder Taylor will be serving in Heerlen, Belgium with Elder Hyer as his trainer.
Zuster Davies will be serving in Zoetermeer with Zuster Herring.
The anticipation........
Elder Douglas was fortunate to have his trainer right there! Elder Crittendon will be leaving Amsterdam and the two of them will white wash Ghent, Belgium! We will miss Elder Crittendon!

Zuster Hinchcliff will be going to Haarlem and will serve with Zuster Moses!
Elder Christensen was pleased to find out he is going to Den Bosch, and will be whitewashing the city with Elder Bjork as his fearless trainer.
President Brubaker drew a map of Holland and showed the new missionaries where their first area of service will be.
Onward and upward.....the beginning of the best two years for my life!

Wonderful, enthusiastic, faithful, excited missionaries!
