The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Zone Presidents Training in Antwerp Belgium

We feel like we are going home when we head for Belgium! For the first two years of our mission we lived only 45 minutes from Antwerp in Brussels. We love having two countries in our mission!
President Brubaker was anxious to share the importance of the Book of Mormon with the Antwerp Zone.
President Brubaker shared the story of a baptismal interview he had a few days ago in Rotterdam. As he asked him if he knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, he picked up his Book of Mormon and said with all the powerful conviction, "I know the Book of Mormon is true. If this book is true and Joseph Smith translated it, then he is a true prophet."
The missionaries learned how to read the Book of Mormon with their investigators to help them gain a testimony. PMG 110-111
1. Invite investigators to start reading from the beginning. Make other assignments later based on prayer and needs.
2. Give reading assignments that are long enough to provide quality experience, but are not overwhelming.
Read with investigators, stopping to discuss passages and share insights as directed by the Spirit.
3. Help others pray about the Book of Mormon to gain a testimony.
Moroni 10:3-5
3 Behold I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord has been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 Ane when ye shall receive these things, i would exhort you that y would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ fi these things are not true;and if ye hsall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
How Can We build DESIRE to read!
When investigators have not kept their commitment to read the Book of Mormon, missionaries should read with them before teaching the next lesson.

The missionaries identified an investigator they are currently teaching and discussed with their companion what this investigator must do to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon.
The Antwerp Zone
There is always time to be a little crazy! We loved our day with these great missionaries!
Zuster Palinekova is missing from the picture! She was having an interview with President!
