The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Endurance Is Prepared To Receive the Gospel

Endurance, 2 June
Amersfoort

Elder Benson, Endurance and Elder Ombach

We were on the way to do a normal look up of a former investigator when we met Endurance. He was outside his apartment with his bike and a bag of groceries. I put off a couple thoughts to contact him saying "I’m busy right now, I can't contact him". But the thought kept coming. So I contacted him. He was super positive and willing to hear more about the Book of Mormon. After that we didn't see him for about two weeks. After a couple weeks, the impression came that we needed to go and visit him; so we did. As it turns out, he was home and he had been reading in the Book of Mormon. We scheduled a meeting for the next day and went on our way. The next day we were able to set a baptismal date with him and we started the teaching process. Having met with him for a couple a weeks, we knew everything was going good; but suddenly, we lost contact with him. We honestly thought that we lost him because we couldn't get any contact with him. After a week, we were biking to a location on a p-day and we came across him delivering papers. He was super excited to see us and we were able to set everything back up and the teaching process stated again. We had decided to push his baptismal date back a couple weeks because of the loss of contact; but one Monday, we got a call from the assistants asking if we could baptize him on the coming Saturday. We thought about it for a while and we decided to do it. We hurried to teach the rest of the lessons and Endurance was growing more and more excited every day. He passed his baptismal interview and was baptized on the 2nd of June 2012.
As Endurance would tell you, he knows that we were sent to him by God to help him find the way that he needed to go. I truly consider it a blessing to have worked with him. He has already blessed and will continue to bless lives as he moves forward throughout eternity.  Written by Elder Benson
