The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Reality Check!

Early Tuesday morning, we looked out our window of the mission home, and reality sunk in!  That moving container is for us!

We were very blessed to have a good day with no rain for moving.  No matter what, you can always find the blessings, right?
We had four very nice young strong movers from Allied  pack all of our personal belongings.
You can't leave Holland without taking part of it with you!  A few Dutch bikes will be there to greet us when we arrive home!  Ask me sometime about the miracle of the bike!
The Dutch movers are experts on packing bikes!

Flowers are appropriate to give to men in Holland!  Thanks to our movers we had room to spare!
I wanted to take this quaint Dutch home with me!  Holland is the epitomy of cute, quaint, cozy!

Phew!  Good to have that done.  We had amazing things to look forward to for the rest of the week!
On Wednesday, President Brubaker and I were invited to speak in Utrecht to the Relief Society.  We shared our experiences of our service trip to Africa.  We had a delightful evening with wonderful sisters!
The senior missionaries met at the mission home for a farewell dinner for Elder and Sister Bush, who have served so faithfully in the Young Adult Center in Deventer.
Our mission has been incredibly blessed with vivacious, enthusiastic, faithful, fun-loving, young-at-heart, devoted, kind, about as perfect as you can get couples in our mission!
They are experts at spoiling our missionaries!
“We must cherish one another, watch over one another,
comfort one another, and gain instruction
that we may all sit down in heaven together.”

We just had to get together with Suzanne Vels and her husband, Mike one last time while we were close to Apeldoorn.
Suzanne was called to serve in her own country, and were so privileged to be able to have her as one of our most choice missionaries!
