The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Elder Mohrman Finally Receives His Mission Call.....in the mission field

Our newest missionary, Elder Mohrman arrived today in the mission field! WELKOM! We were so excited and happy for his safe arrival. He was happy for this day to finally arrive. From the Brussels airport we drove to the mission office and Elder Marshall and Elder Conder oriented him concerning legality and got him all set up with his MSF card.
I awaited anxiously for President Brubaker and Elder Mohrman to arrive for lunch at the mission home. After a little rest to help with the jet lag, the assistants came and took Elder Mohrman for his first contacting experience at the Grand Place in Brussels. After months of practicing in the MTC, this was the REAL thing! They talked with people from many nationalities and walks of life.
The anticipation of opening his call for his first assignment had been building all day! Drum roll......... drum roll...........the time had finally come for Elder Mohrman to find out where he would be serving and who his trainer would be!
President Brubaker hand picks each trainer for our new missionaries.
Elder DeMeester is one of our finest and seasoned trainers. They will be serving together in the beautiful city of Amsterdam! When Elder Mohrman received his mission call, he really didn't receive it. He waited and waited and nothing came but then he received a phone call from another family in the Salt Lake area and they asked for Joseph as they had received his call by mistake and so he found out by the phone that he would be going to Belgium Netherlands. Elder Mohrman was excited to finally get to open his own envelope with his name inside!
