We did not know what to do to help Alain. He had missed his first two baptismal dates and had, for the moment, dropped us. It was then that I and Elder da Cruz went to the Lord and prayed hard to know what we could do to help him. For me it was a very powerful moment. As we knelt to pray for his welfare, not knowing what to do, I felt strongly that it was in the Lord’s hands and that Alain would be ok. We acted on these feelings and went by his house. Alain let us in and after only a few minutes shared that he had received a powerful spiritual confirmation that this is where he belonged and he asked us when he could be baptized. Alain was baptized two weeks later and when he shared his testimony several of the members attending cried. We taught Alain the principles of the Gospel but in the end it was purely between him and the Lord. Alain knows that the Church of Jesus Christ is restored not from the missionaries but from direct and powerful revelation from God. How great is our God? (Written by Elder Bjork)
