The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Apeldoorn Zone President's Training

One of our favorite things we do is being with our missionaries! We spent the week with them, zone by zone. We started with the Apeldoorn zone in the beautiful city of Apeldoorn. We had so much to share with the missionaries that we learned from the seminar we attended in Frankfurt.
Nick from Hengelo attended our Zone President's training. He is going to be the best missionary! He was able to do a mini mission several months ago, and now is almost ready to turn his papers in! Elder McKee and Elder Burton welcomed him with open arms!
President Brubaker shared with the Apeldoorn zone how they were doing with their goals.
In Preach My Gospel we read that:
"When performance is measured performance improves.
When performance is measured and reported,
the rate of improvement accelerates."
p. 150
Elder Schwartz and Elder Davis ponder over the things that they learned.
Elder Sanchez, Elder Pelaquim, Elder McDaniel listen intently
In order to reach our goals by the end of the year, we need to place particular emphasis on:
Church attendance and New Investigators.
Elder Wait and Elder Pitchforth desire to see and visualize who could bless their ward.
As we see increase in church attendance, and as the missionaries have a clear vision of why this is important, they will help their new investigators come to have a desire to see the importance of attending church. This is when we experience 'Real Growth" throughout Europe! Missionaries need to understand the importance of baptizing active investigators, who will be active members.
Missionaries are asked to visualize who would bless their wards or branches where they serve.
Families, Young Adults, priesthood leaders, future missionaries, members with a car..........?
They each wrote down what are the needs of their ward, and to write down who they needed to look for when they are finding. President Brubaker then asked them where would you go to find these people, and what time of day?
Elder Schwartz, Elder Davis, and Elder Wang know exactly who they need to look for?
What is our vision? Elder Nielsen and Elder Hendrickson want great things to happen in their units! They have a desire to baptize their replacement! Amazing things could happen if each missionary found and baptized their replacement!
Elder Wang had a surprise gift for Elder Hendrickson!
Missionaries all pitched in and helped with the lunch today! The zone leaders were great delegators!
Elder Pelaquim and Sister Van Komen enjoy visiting during lunch
Our senior missionaries are wonderful examples to our missionaries. Elder Van Komen and Elder Nielsen have a good chat during lunch.
In the afternoon Elder Pankratz talked to the missionaries about the importance of automobile and bicycle safety.

It is a challenge driving or riding a bicycle in these countries, and we all learned what all the signs mean and how we can become more aware and stay safe!
Elder Pitchforth and President Brubaker -Happy Birthday!

We love the missionaries serving in the Apeldoorn zone!
