The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

Anticipation........

We were up bright and early anticipating and ready to meet our new group of missionaries from the MTC. We have been so anxious to receive two missionaries from Brazil! Elder Pelaquim and Elder Da Cruz will be a great asset. Their language skills will be a big help in our mission. Zuster Jeffs and Elder Leach are from Arizona......all missionaries were welcomed to the Belgium Netherlands Mission!

Elder Marshall and Elder Keith oriented the missionaries at the office. President Brubaker interviewed each missionary and then we came to the mission home for lunch. I had lots of help with last minute preparations.
After lunch and a well deserved nap, missionaries went to the dedication site.

Tervuren Park is beautiful no matter the season. A beautiful spirit permeates here.
A moment of reflection and contemplation.....
First contacting in the Grand Place of Brussels, Belgium!
We are keeping the tradition alive. Missionaries have been coming To Mykonos for over twenty years!
Brussels is so international!
A visit to Brussels would not be complete without a famous Belgian waffle.
Back at the mission home, we had missionaries guess where they thought they might be serving.
All were wrong this time!
Elder Pelaquim will serve in Den Bosch with Elder Frahm.
Zuster Jeffs will serve in The Hague with Zuster Sharp as her trainer.
Elder Da Cruz will serve in Almere with Elder Osmond.
Elder Leach will serve in The Hague with Elder Hawkley.
The culture of the country where missionaries serve is a integral part of their mission. President Brubaker included information about the city where they will be serving. We encourage missionaries to learn and experience the diverse culture where they serve.
President Brubaker and the assistants choose carefully with help from the Spirit who will have the opportunity to train these fine new missionaries. Being called to be a trainer is the most important calling for a missionary to have. We have great confidence that these missionaries will be welled taken care of.
This morning has finally arrived! They are off to the train station to start this great adventure!
Tot ziens!
