The Brubaker Family

The Brubaker Family

President Brubaker and I are excited to be here as the Mission President and companion of the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission! We love your sons and daughters, and feel to thank you for the wonderful missionaries you have raised! This is a very unique mission. Our mission includes two countries, and five languages, not including many dialects spoken in the Netherlands. The missionaries are teaching many people from all around the globe. With the help of the Spirit, the missionaries are finding those who have been prepared to receive the Gospel. This is truly the best mission in the world, and we are honored to be a part of it. We will try and take good care of your sons and daughters. We love them so much already!

We have 5 children and 11 wonderful grand children. We have so much fun together! We are grateful for the support they have given us as we prepared to leave for three years. Our home is in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have raised our family in the Millcreek Holladay area. We enjoy many activities together. We are happiest when we are hiking in Southern Utah, cross-country skiing into our rustic cabin in the Uintahs, enjoying a good game of Train or Settlers of Catan, or just being together and sharing a meal with each other. We love our family so much!!!

One Last Memorable Evening in the Mission Home

Six faithful and devoted elders prepared today for their return to their homes. They came from all parts of the Netherlands and Belgium. I know there were many sad good-byes as they left many ward members who have become very close to them. President Brubaker spent the afternoon giving a last interview with each missionary. President Brubaker spends about 45 minutes with each missionary as he gives them good counsel to help them as they soon will open the next important chapter in their lives. After all missionaries came to the mission home for dinner and testimony meeting.
Each missionary receives their own antique key to remind them of the"family" bond they have with the Belgium Brussels Netherlands Mission. President Brubaker has taught them that
"Love Is The Key".
A hand-painted Delft Plate - A very unique to our mission remembrance of their mission.
Elder Verwey was pleasantly surprised to receive this gift from a Chinese member that he was able to bring into the Gospel.
Elder Verwey had a VERY early plane to catch to Surinam. We cherished our time with him before reluctantly bidding him farewell.
Elder Verwey spent the last 5 transfers in Appeldoorn. He was a Chinese speaking missionary and was instrumental in bringing many amazing Chinese young adults into the church.
The other 5 missionaries were brought to the airport by Elder and Sister Tibbitts. Elder Adams, Elder Wells, Elder Kramer, Elder Weatherston and Elder Conder will be missed and it just won't be the same without them. These are all fine, hard working, faithful devoted missionaries. I tell the missionaries to remember who they are.........

"We are missionaries from the Belgium Netherlands Mission-the best mission in the world."
