George and Lucy Bosire, Arnhem, February 6, 2011
Family Bosire first came in contact with the church when Lucy and her son Harvey met the missionaries on the street after mistaking them for the police. After some time of no contact with the missionaries, Elder Hansen and Elder Weatherston stopped by to see if they would still be interested. Lucy happily made an appointment for the following week. The lessons began and after many personal and companion studies, the elders were able to satisfy Lucy and her well thought deep questions. But it was done only by the Spirit and much sweating. The more the Elders came, the more open and accepting the Bosires became. The Gospel was nothing new for them and they readily accepted the Book of Mormon. The missionaries taught much about baptism and anxiously waited for George and Lucy to say they wanted to be baptized. Well, that day came when Lucy called asking if it were possible to give George a surprise by being baptized on his birthday. George and Lucy were baptized 6 February 2011. They both have a strong testimony of the restored gospel and of the prophet Joseph Smith. They are very excited to continue on their new path of spiritual growth. They are a great strength to the Arnhem Ward. (Written by Elder Weatherston)
